Desert Landscape #2, 2023

The “Desert Landscape Series” is an ongoing theme in my work that reflects years of living and traveling in the intermountain west and desert southwest of the US.  Environments affect us so profoundly.  I have always found high mountain desert environments to be particularly rarified and powerful in their effect upon me.  In them, I feel as if I am in my element.  Stylistically, I see the influence of Picasso and Matisse most notably in this 2023 series.
